BRIDGE Urban Infill Land Development (BUILD), an affiliate of BRIDGE Housing Corporation, resulted from an innovative partnership between BRIDGE and the California State Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). The BUILD fund of $175 million in equity capital was used to realize large-scale projects in urban infill locations. BUILD acquired underutilized properties in existing urban communities and added value through new entitlement processing and redevelopment. In ideal cases, investment occurred in tandem with local public and private infrastructure and development activities, to ensure larger neighborhood turnaround rather than isolated development projects.

Examples of BUILD projects include 901 San Antonio, Wood Street/Central Station, Irvington Village/Park Lane, Kirker Creek, Irvington Village II/Park Lane West, Lewis Road, MacArthur Station and South Bernardo/Citra.
